Gym, where do you go?

Yes it was dealt with somewhat more emphatically than this - though I didn't have a go at the staff as they're just following direction, and the girls were cute! :p

However I had the likes of Terry Hollands retweeting me, and I even published the letter from DL on twitter which got lots of retweets.

I then got a call from the manager stating he wished I hadn't done that and had approached him first... I had tried, he was never available. Ah well.

Well indeed.... Plebs of the highest order.

All the gyms in my area when I first introduce myself used to say "ohhhh you're the guy from twitter fighting david lloyd?!" :D

It was ridiculous.

Did he just admit he would rather be in another gym (the manager)

Loved how he felt he absoloutely had to mention he trains them, utter tool.

I go to pure myself mostly late nights good gyms every single one I've been in

Exercise4Less

Good range of equipment and one of the biggest gyms in the area. But, at £9.99 a month it brings in a lot of people and at peak times it just gets silly.

I try and get in before the 5 o'clock rush, get there any later and I might as well not bother.

Another one opening pretty close so hopefully it will spread the amount of people a bit.

£9.99 per Month - 12 Month Contract.

I'm at Xercise4Less as well, though fortunately it's never rammed with people. It's also £9.99, but a lot of the time it's fairly quiet. Quiet enough at least that I'm never waiting around more than a few minutes, or struggling to find plates.

It's also nice that we (myself and a friend) are friendly with most of the staff and lift with one of them sometimes as well, but the PTs don't seem to have a clue about much of what they're doing (no surprises there!).

It's got by far the best range of equipment of any gym I've been to. 75KG dumbbells!

There's another one roughly the same distance away in the opposite direction that is a bit rammed most of the time and has a smaller weights section though.

Overall it's great, and the fact that I can use my log in in any of their gyms across the country is great, as I find I sometimes have to travel for work.

Dw in aylesbury getting on 3 years now.
It's OK, decent weight area but always busy. PT asides from 2 are more for the female clients then males,so never used them.

Some douchbags that just treat it like a tip, but most people generally nice and just want to lift.

£25 pm.no contract.

You are in Aylesbury? You need to join the Fitness Academy....

Best gym I've trained at. BennyC & Delvis train there as well.

As above, train in Aylesbury in a non-chain gym, fantastic owners and members alike, everyones generally friendly and willing to lend a hand if you ask. It's not a big gym but it has a various equipment, db's, couple of racks, bench or two, platform, strongman equipment (prowler/farmers handles/stones/yoke etc), that along with muay thai or the like - So it's good for what it offers.

I used to use Pure Gym in MK, think I was there for two years? Joined prior to it's opening and saw it grow quite decently in that time, I used to train prior to work so was in the gym before 6:30am which made it less busy.

I'll no doubt stay at the Aylesbury gym for the long term, depending on where my career takes me next, I currently work in Bicester but commute back to Aylesbury, so unless i start working even further away I'll no doubt stay there.

Currently train at Flex Gym in Southampton. £22.50 pm on a 6 month contract, loads of free weights and plate loading machines and it's near to my workplace so I can get my workout done over lunch. "Bro" quotient is on a par with other gyms I've trained in and (aside from a few people who take themselves far too seriously) the clientele is pretty good. Couldn't be happier.

PureGym, a new one opened very local to me and it's only £10.99 a month for the first year and £17.99 after that. Suits me fine and when I go it's been quiet so far so no complaints.

£100pm, wow nice price premium in London. 'Up North' it is £50-£60pm depending if you want rolling monthly or annual contract.

£100 is one of the cheaper VA in London :p You can usually find them around £130 ish for Central London.
The flagship club is Chiswick Riverside and has a JOINING fee of £500 and a monthly membership fee of £300.

Bannatyne's has the current deal of £38 rolling month and not sign up cost, while a lot of Edinburgh people recommend Virgin Active. Just class time tables aren't exciting for me. What are other people's experience of other chain gyms?

Virgin Active in Edinburgh was great. The staff were good too.

I get free gym access at Bisham Abbey in Marlow through work at the minute :D
