Jay really isn't that good for info. He's purely an entertainer who can make nice looking water-cooled systems. No one should be taking be technical advice as he's very clearly biased.

I think thats a bit unfair. Also note I said "sometimes".
For example, this one :
I largely agree with, and I think would actually help someone who is a uncertain about what you get when buying a GPU.

As for entertainment, yes sure, but I would say most are probably going for the entertainment value anyway. You only really need informative videos if your looking to upgrade your PC. Most peeps either can't afford upgrade every few months, or alternatively have a perfectly fitting setup.

I would be interested to know why you think he's bias though, unless you mean he's bias toward water cooling over air cooling? (am not upset about it btw, am always interested to know if some content creator I frequent is getting paid off).

Can you expand on his bias a bit more? I really enjoy his content, never noticed a bias before.

Gamers Nexus is great for news. I enjoy Jayz videos on the whole. Buidlzoid/AHOC appeals to the nerd in me and its nice to see a Brit doing a channel like this. I've learnt a fair amount from his videos. Linus still has some good content from time to time as well.

Gamers Nexus is about the only tech site/channel I ever even bother with even semi-regularly and AFAIK currently the best for news and insight in core PC system hardware.

Linus does a lot of great broader tech coverage but seems a bit Marmite - some people love him some can't stand him.

I see Linus as purely tech entertainment. I don't follow their benchmarks, but their videos of them playing around with esoteric hardware, like their long range enterprise level WiFi video is definitely entertaining.

I stopped watching him when he crawled up nVidia's arse. I could tell he was really trying to show people he wasn't doing that, but doing it anyway.

I never tonight his content was bad, and I did or do find his videos entertaining, but it was clear that he just wasn't that great with the deeply technical stuff.

For example, Wendell from L2 Techs is one of my favourites, but I can see some people finding him a bit dry.

But he knows his tech and hardware on a deep level and does some interesting stuff with it.

I used to watch Tek Syndicate until they split with Wendell as well, because what's left over is now purely entertainment with a technology focus.

Since HardOCP is no more for tech news, what other sites are similar and good?
That website was only ran by one person ?

I always expected websites like that to be ran by more then a single person...

Edit: after looking through the review parts I see there different people that also do the reviews

Levelonetechs, hexus, anandtech, guru3d, gamersnexus, bit-tech are all pretty good for news. The register and the verge are ok also.

I find you need to read a fair few to remove the bias anyway.

Linus has phases of being very good and then utter garbage, it’s very infuriating.
