I own a 600T and H100 and was not happy with the noise the stock H100 fans made, I was told that buying some AP-15s would help as they are near silent, however when plugged into my H100 pump they are always at full and are extremely loud. Buying 2 fans for £30 to find out there actually worse than the stock ones is a kick in the teeth and wondered if they can be plugged into my 600T fan controller or will this not work? If I can't get these fans running quiet I'll be forced to throw them in a draw and never look at them again.

the gentle typhoons are AWESOME

i dont know if the 600t controller can handle the power they use - a little research for you to do buddy before you try it :)

Well this is what I managed to find out,

Just got word back from Corsair...

Quote:
Technical Support -- The fan controller is rated up to 0.5A, that will allow to run 6 watts per port

Should this be enough, and will the fan controller set to lowest setting allow the CPU to stay cool enough?

The fan is rated at 0.083. Sorry for asking questions and not finding this stuff out myself, I have no idea what I'm on about when it comes down to this.

Hi, GT1850 as you say 0.083 Amps, so at max RPM just less than 1 watt (12V x 0.083A). So 6 watt per port, channel/ Fan Connector ? Should be well enough.
If you want the 2 Fans to run at same speed, not sure how your controller would/ can do it. But you could get a splitter & run them off same connector/ channel.
Whether 2, 3 or 4 pin connectors, normally you can't connect them up wrongly (connectors have positioning guides, well those i have seen use). 2pin just power, 3pin power plus speed monitoring, 4pin power speed monitoring & PWM control. GT's are 3 pin (so no PWM control ie say/ call it auto control from say mobo), will connect to 2, 3 or 4 pin connector from controller etc.
GT 1850 is very quiet, but not at 1850rpm (neither are GT 1450rpm at max, i can get these to start up at 3.1v, 200rpm), i find GT 1850rpm will start up at 3.3 to 3.4volts, around 450rpm (thats what my Lampton FC5 v2 says/ does, not precise readings fluctuates a bit).
Very nice Fans. Being Ball Bearings, very nice horizontal or vertical.

Regards temp, use SW monitoring, RealTemp, Speed Fan etc etc, & keep CPU to recommended Temp or whatever you want/ like.

Cheers BOB
