So I hear.
But we don't know how old the one the OP bought is. It could have been in stock for a while.
Also you can over tighten despite the manufacturer's best efforts to stop you doing so.

Mines looks like any other P9X79 Pro i`ve seen - basically the cooler screws on top of the cpu without the x shaped backplate.. Don`t know if that`s what you guys meant..
Yes, that's what I meant.
Just try loosening the screws a touch.
It's worth a shot.

Haven`t loosened those thumbscrews back a touch as yet ( still a little scared in case i end up having to re-paste/re-seat ) but will do at some point.
Just messing about with the Asus AI Suite AutoTuning System LevelUp thing in windows ( as i`ve yet to tinker with manual bios overclocking ) - it`s got me to an OC of 4.68Mhz at 1.464v.
Cinebench is registering as 4.16Ghz with a score of 13.57 which is basically what i was aiming for as those cores will be largely used for Cinema4D rendering etc..
I`m guessing more juice could be squeezed out of it by manual tweaking the bios - i`m not looking to go to the absolute limit but the best i can safely get really..
I think that vcore value is prob about max safe level?
