First time putting an AIO water cool like this into a build and was wondering if the fans can be removed so I could replace them with 2 of my own 120mm LED silent ones?

Thanks :)

The fans should simply unscrew allowing you to change them. I would however advise you look at the specs of the fans you're looking to use. The stock fans which come with the cooler are very good, despite being loud when running under full whack, they have a superb static pressure which other fans are unable to match, bar the new Noctua Industrial fans.

The trick here is to configure a custom fan curve, using Corsair Link, which uses the temp of the coolant in the unit to regulate the fans RPM. My stock fans run at 350-400rpm idle and 900-1050rpm under load, only just touching 55-60 degrees. If you want to change the fans, you'll need PWN fans and the best replacement would be the Corsair SP120.

Yeah I noticed they look really good (stock fans) but I need some lighting in my case (Corsair 540) and as the stock fans seemed high dB thought I would swap them out.

Having read what you have said and also I had decided against swapping them, instead I might just throw a couple of Cathodes in instead.

Thanks for the info and fan reccomendation should I change my mind but I think adding other lighting options would be best.

Thanks mate :)

Why not go for an LED Strip instead of the cathod's? Theres a good HOW TO guide in the case section on how to get one that can have the colours changed. I followed the guide and its pretty simple and works really well :)

NZXT Hue allows you to change colours, but requires a 5.25" bay for the controller.

Edit:

Regarding your H100i fans, I set up the following custom curve to keep the noise low. Currently it's dead silent unless on a boot cycle.

H100i profile is a custom fan curve:
  • 25deg - 0rpm
  • 28deg - 800rpm
  • 30deg - 800rpm
  • 45deg - 1200rpm
  • 50deg - 2100rpm
