Hi all,

I am getting starting temps of 56-68c idle and 80c when browsing load, the air being pump out is cool and I cant see any evidence the temps are high. This started after I attempted to reconfigure the radiator, I have put it back in its original position but it is still showing the same temps.

Then all of a sudden they go back down to 48c idle, What is going on?

Then it will go back up, and so on. There are no significant processes running during this.

Increasing the fans seem to make little difference to the temps

Is this for real!!!!

Even if you are using the crap stock fans that doesn't seem right. I would reseat the cooler and make sure it's installed correctly, my h100 never goes above 65 gaming, I don't use the stock fans but even with the stock fans it wasn't getting anywhere near 80. At Idle my h100 is all 30s.

I got a new GPU in summer last year. As temperatures decreased during autumn and winter, the GPU temp increased, which didn't make much sense. Eventually they started scraping 80C on load (an increase of 15C since I got it) and I knew that unless I did something about it, it would be reaching 90C or more this summer. So I removed the heatsink to have a look at the paste. This is what I found:

lol...

Cleaned that mess up, added new paste properly, and temps are now 15C lower again.

Moral of the story is don't forget to check the spread of the paste if you experience heat issues. Even if there was no heat problem to begin with, badly applied paste (or too much paste) can begin expanding outwards and causing issues soon enough. And sometimes, they get it very wrong (the amount if not positioning) at the manufacturer's.

I was thinking he would be using the pre applied paste. Well like mentioned if you have applied your own paste and its not done correctly, do it again. Pretty sure its something you have done whilst installing it.

Hi guys sorry for replying late early shift this morning all I did was reposition the radiator so the pipes were the opposite side to the exhaust fan I didn't take the block off though I guess it may have moved the block enough to mess up the thermal paste.

is the pump running....
come on guys its an h100's there known the have dodge pumps this should have been the first port of call.

go into bios and set the fan header that the pump into at full speed and monitor rpm's.

What P4Clock said. My first thought was pump problems.
Next is needs to be cleaned and reseated and/or dust bunnies in radiator .. or air in system.

How old is it?

I had a few back bracket issues with the h100i. I had a mare with it before! Make sure its orientated the correct way( the slight cut out wraps around the cpu socket screws iirc). Also, i had an issue where the back plate was being pulled too far through the socket holes and so the block was mounted to the cpu too loosely. I had to use standoffs on the backate to stop it being pulled though.
