Every now and again, it seems very random and I have heard it maybe 5x in the 2 months I have had my pc I think my H100i v2 pump makes a weird kind of grinding noise, has anyone else experienced anything like this? I am not really sure how to describe other than that. I have Googled and seen various reports of some dodgy pumps and fan noises on these coolers. I already replaced the fans because of some annoying noise they were making with the radiator being at the top of my case. The only thing that I have seen that seems to be a reasonable explanation of it is that there is a bubble or the fluid levels in it. It's almost as if for a second the pump is dry. If it was that wouldn't it occur more often? The pump is on the pump header for my motherboard and the fans are attached to the fan pins on the cooler itself and not on my motherboard. Temps are all great and I have had 0 issues with that.

Mine would occasionally do the same. Could be an air bubble. If you shake the pump, do you notice a rattling noise? Can you hear the fluid moving?

How long have you had it?

I went to an air cooler just due to the issue I experienced, no help I know but since they don't have a great shelf life, I decided to remove it.

I have had it around 8 weeks. It's really hard to tell 100% if it is the pump because it happens so randomly and lasts for around a second I don't get chance to check. Usually I have my headphones on and by time I take them off to get down and check it has stopped. I haven't tried shaking the pump, I would need to disconnect it all to try that which I guess will be the next step. There are so many search results for issues with this cooler that it is a bit of a bummer.

RMA it, dont risk the pump failing and thus the coolant temp slowly rises and rises without you noticing and the next thing you know your at the max temp the CPU can handle and it starts to throttle itself backdown to attempt to reduce its temperature.

I have done now. I don't want to risk it so I managed to get an RMA sorted and I hope the replacement one will be alright. Just amazed at the sheer number of issues with them and stuff that seems to have carried over from previous versions. It's a great cooler so I don't really want to swap to anything else so fingers crossed.
