Hi there,

I am new to these forums and have recently purchased the Corsair H100i v2 from Amazon to pair with my i7 8700k. I am posting here as I would like advice on the noise my aio pump is making, it makes an audible hum/buzzing sound. It is not terribly loud but noticeable particularly at idle loads. I would like some help to diagnose if this is normal or in fact an issue as I can still exchange it through amazon should it be necessary, although it should be noted my temperatures are 28 degrees idle and under stress test only hitting 60 degrees on my i7 8700k which is really good performance wise. It is just the noise that worries me into thinking I may have a defective unit.

Here is a youtube video of the pump sound and my build:

I'd be interested to hear your thoughts as to whether this is normal or offer advice as I can return it if necessary. Thanks :)

Can't listen right now but my first assumption would be some air trapped in the pump. Have you tried moving it around while it's running? So long as the radiator is above the pump, any air bubbles you can dislodge will move along and hopefully settle at the top of the radiator.

Try tilting the case a little in each direction while running :)

The pump is audible, I’m using the same one at the moment. I have to have my case fans way low down and my side panel off to hear it, but it’s there. Have you got it on Quiet or Performance mode?

If there’s air trapped then it’ll defo be louder. As others have said try turning it to quiet, them performance, then back etc. Try turning it on and off repeatedly, and moving the case around.

Also you need to change your OP because you’re discussing a competitor.
