Hey guys. So I have a h100i on the way which will cool my 5960x until I go full water in the near future. Will be changing the fans but have read about one of two people needing to update the firmware. Is there any well known issues with this cooler that I should be aware of before installing it? I should have put a little more research into this before ordering but the cooler I originally wanted was out of stock and im impatient lol. Also I have seen using the corsair link commander on some models the colour can be changed, is this one of those models?

Should just be install and enjoy, only thing is the stock fans are not that good as they vibrate when run at high speeds.
As for the firmware if it runs ok then I wouldn't updating it.

I am replacing the fans straight away mate, have ordered new ones. Thanks for the advice, will see how it goes. Not too sure if I will put the fans above on push or below on pull yet, does it matter?

Push is supposed to be best.

If using corsair link you can change colours and Firmware can also be updated via corsair link if need be.

No known issues or anything major to be aware of. Only thing off the top of my head is to make sure you have the mounting bracket oriented the correct way, I've seen a lot of people mess that up, which results in the block not seated correctly.

Either way it's super simple to setup, make sure to set a fan profile up and as per above corsair recommend push.

Thanks guys, and linus knows all so will have a think which way I want it setup. Will put them in pull like linus i think.

Linus is a prat and changes his opinions based on his sponsorship deals for the month. He used to favour the DH15 above anything AIO in the past, but since he is sponsored by Corsair now guess what? Yes, he now loves Corsair AIO's.

The H100i is good though, as someone said the f/w can be changed through the Link software and may need a couple of restarts for it to detect the cooler and update it. Additionally do make sure the mounting bracket is on the correct way, even though it appears symmetrical it does need to go on in a particular way or the cooler won't seat correctly.

If the Link software (after a firmware update) doesn't detect your cooler, LED and devices then try this:

It worked for me
