Ok so I’m about to mount the fans onto my radiator. Corsair are recommending mounting the fans as an “air intake on my case”... please see my attached photo, have I got the fans in the direction they recommend?

I’m a total noob so I don’t know which way is which :p

Many thanks

In almost all cases, fans spin anti clockwise when you look at the side with visible fan hub. If you look at the blades you can work out that air is then pushed down, so air flows generally out of the side with the frame on it (the one visible in your picture).

Most importantly it depends which way round in the case you mount it!

Thanks for your input guys - I have a new problem now (sigh)...

So it turns out that I can’t fit the radiator with the fans attached directly to it, as there is zero clearance from my chunky new Aorus Master motherboard...

There is just no way those corasir fans can squeeze in there...Honestly I can’t belive my (bad) luck!!

So my question is it viable to mount the fans on top the case grill in a pull configuration like this? Please say it is

That looks like the case was designed for that setup. The reality is, loads of cases that claim top radiator support don't actually have enough room for a rad with fans. Or they do but only if ultra low profile ram is used (shorter than short PCB, no heat spreaders). It's not your motherboard's fault :)

Bear in mind you've got that configured as an exhaust. That's what I'd do as it will remove air from the top of the case, but just so you know.

Tell you a funny story, after wrestling trying to get the radiator + fans in for nearly two hours I finally decided to look at the provided case manual.... you’re right that case is designed for the fans to go on top :p
