H115i Pro or H100i v2?

You might be able to do a custom temp to rpm curve that changes fan speed enough to be above or below the range you are getting the pulsing hum from them at.

Didn't work, sadly. I bought a pair of Silent Wings 3, but have had a nightmare getting them up and running. They don't spin up at all if I connect them to the pump - tried a direct connection and connecting them via a powered PWM splitter... I've given up and am running them off the mobo instead. They don't seem to have the mid-rpm hum that the Noctuas had, although they're slightly louder at lower RPMs (not tried tweaking the curve yet).

It is, and it's done in a way we can compare cooler performance.

I will only say the 1c margin of error for CPUID HW Monitor has to be added to the 2c margin of error from their 21-23c ambient air temp means possible difference could be as much as +/-3c. 21c minus CPUID 1c MOA (margin of error) for CPUID is 20c and 23c plus 1c CPUID MOA is 24c for a total of +/-3c MOA, not 1c.

As an example of what this all means; when comparing Eisbaer LT 360's 32c recorded load temp versus NH-D15's 38c recorded load temp,
they could be 30c & 40c for 10c difference
or 34c and 36c for 2c difference. Hope that makes sense.

Sorry, I should have been clearer. :o I was talking about using motherboard fan headers.

I went with a h115i which arrived yesterday.

It was cheaper than the h110i at the time and I was concerned that the 4th RAM slot would be obstructed.

I watched Tech Deals on YouTube before I made my purchase and he said that there wasn't any difference between the two in terms of cooling, just go for the one that is cheaper. His review covered the v1 which didn't have the AM4 bracket, the v2 does.

I'd be surprised if there was much difference between the h110i, the H115i v1 and the H115i v2. It's definitely a nice upgrade from the h100i, but 280 CLC should be much of a muchness...
