H170 for gaming?

Hi all,

I'm building a modest gaming machine based around an i5 6500 as I'm not interested in overclocking for the time being.

Is an H170 mobo sufficient for gaming with a gtx 970? The only thing I'm not sure about is being stuck with 2133Mhz ddr4 - will this hold me back in any way?

For an extra £30 I could grab a z170 mobo and run some 2666, but would I notice any difference using the CPU and GPU listed above?

Which H170 board?

Ive just looked at some of the ones instock and most are DDR3, now there has a been a warning from intel about using DDR3 with skylake cpus as normal voltage DDR3 can shorten their life span, only DDR3L (for low voltage) is officially supported.

It wont be noticeable in day to day use.

You will see the ASUS description is now correct so thanks for pointing that out:)
