hey guys,

been thinking about experimenting with watercooling for a while now, and just put this little basket together to get a rough idea of costs,

is there anything that you'd change, and have i spec'ed enough fittings? tubing?

just want for the cpu at the moment, gfx might come at a later point when i get a bigger case

also, just for a basic cpu loop, would you spec a reservoir, or just do without.

A res will make your life easier when it comes to filling and draining the loop.

You need an even amount of fittings, 6 in your case :)
You won't need 5m of tubing unless the rad is being stored in a different room :o 2m will be plenty :)
Get some distilled water, a fraction of the price of that fluid xp stuff and exactly the same performance.
You also need a silver kill coil or some pt_nuke as a biocide to prevent algae etc building up.

Cost is an issue and the D5 doesn't help there, check out http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=WC-011-XS&groupid=962&catid=1845&subcat= as a pump and res combo. There's also a newer revision out but OcUK don't stock :( it claims to have better electronics and reliability. I got one but can't comment on either as my loop has been up for all of 2 days now :p

If you've got the space then take the money you saved and up the rad to a double

I think that's it...good luck :)

As for fluids save your self a far bit of money use distilled water + Silver Coil or something like Thermochill ECO 6 clear and get your self a Res as Reiyushin says. I'm using a XSPC Res/Pump 750 its 5 months old now no probs at all.
