Work will start next month on the UK's first Fibrecity in Bournemouth which will see connectivity speeds of 100 Mbps to all homes and businesses in the area. A Fibrecity deployment in Dundee will follow early in 2009, with other towns and cities announced in due course.

Anyone from Bournemouth signed up to it i heard they was sending out letters be interested to hear thoughts on service.

Sound good, we're living in the stoneage for broadband speeds in the U.K :(

Hardly the stone age - just look at the US.

I agree that we need to get fibre up and running in order to maintain any sort of modern internet access for the majority of the population though.

Hopefully this may give companies like Virgin a kick up the ar*e.
They have sat back for a while on their laurels so with these guys using tunnels already in place, VM will be missing big chunks of new estates etc that they 'cannot afford' to cable up.

Hope these guys all the best!

probably around £60+ i'd imagine, they wont be letting this service go cheap.
i do wonder what the upload is like and also any limits or traffic management.
