I have one of these on order (Black and red), and am not 100% sure what colour LED's to install inside, I'm torn between Red or White. Anyone on here 100% sure what their plans are for the H440 yet?

Ive seen white LED's inside a white metal case, and it looks amazing!

This is from the NZXT website::

Im just not totally sure about how white LED's look with black metal? I ordered some red/black braided cables and think white will show this off well! Maybe you guys have some pictures?

Also I'm quite new here and have no idea how to 'link' a basket from OCUK? I've just bought a whole load of new things, and want to make a project log shortly, and it would be cool if I knew how to do that!

White lights look best IMO. If you've got a black and red rig you want to highlight the contrast, not make everything look red (which is what red LEDs would do).

God-awful, in my opinion...

My Corsair 500R came with white lights on the fans front and side. The effect is very harsh and creates a stark coldness that doesn't seem in keeping with the rest of the case.
That pic of the white case from the website looks good, but it has probably been painstakingly balanced, corrected and touched up. In reality, it probably looks a lot more glaring and washed out.

If you can direct the light so it only shines inward, that could work but I'd personally choose just a few individual LEDS (and this is something I'm playing with right now) that could be focussed like spotlights on only the key areas you want highlighting. Otherwise it just looks like you're shining a large LED torch directly into the case.

Another idea is to backlight the motherboard you can see in the picture its a lot darker around the motherboard sides failing that instead of glaring led's how bout a couple of white cathodes?

I would never use red lights, it looks terrible mate. Everything just looks washed out, white is the way to go. I've got the black on order, and I'm going with white, I'm thinking of spraying the red to grey, black and red has been done to death, imo,

Thanks for the views guys, I'll defiantly go with white I think! And I think ttaskmaster's point of:

Is also what I thought may happen! I guess trial and error will have to happen!

Also today I got my OCUK order ready for when my H440 comes!

I should make a project log soon!

can you get black light leds? make things inside glow.
You can get UV LED strips and UV cathodes, both of varying lengths.
I'm not a fan of this, but it does work well and looks great if you *are* into the whole Cyberdog type 'glowing stuff'!

And I think ttaskmaster's point of [blah, blah, witter, wibble] Is also what I thought may happen! I guess trial and error will have to happen!
Remember, that's just my own personal Nooby opinion. Some people do like it.
My advice is, as you say, a bit of trial and error - Perhaps get hold of a couple cheap LED torches or make up one of those Velleman project kits using different LED colours and test-fit them, to see what looks best.

You could just do what NZXT did and stick in a Hue behind the rear side panel? You'd need to take off the cover to change the lights, but it'd let you try all the combinations you want
