I don't know much about fans and I don't know how good the H440 rear fan is - Would it make a difference if I replaced it with a Silverstone SST-FQ121 FQ Series 1225 PWM - Watercooling Optimised Fan

I have both, I'd replace it with a 140mm fan rather than a 120mm.

I have used a Noctua P14r, Alphenfohn Wingboost 2 140mm and a Akasa Viper 140mm. Alpenfohn was the best, closely followed by the Akasa and then the noctua was only a smidge better than the stock fan. These are all fairly subjective results so take them with a pinch of salt.

I'm annoyed by how much my temps have gone up since getting this case

My previous case was a spec 01 which is a small case but the air flow was much better

Tis a toasty case unfortunately. As for the rear fan, look one that's designed for airflow in mind. A lot of radiator fans have high static pressure and may not be amazing as a rear exhaust. Although apparently according to some h440 owners having high static pressure front fans improved airflow due to the restrictive some waht nature of the front panel. One thing to try is removing the Mesh grills from the top panel and front panel. I've not tried it myself but some users have said it has helped.

Really dissapointed with the case it supposed to be quiet but its much louder than my spec 01

I did remove the mesh from the front but it hasn't really done anything

Tbh, if you aren't happy with it, return it if you can. There are plenty of cases on offer at this price range that are brilliant and don't have similar problems

I can't understand why the H440 seems to be so recommended considering the air flow

Mainly because it looks amazing. I've had one of the first batch from OCUK & i really like it, though its been a pain in the neck to get the cooling sorted out. I had a blower style cooler and it just wasnt getting enough air. So i ended up buying a Kraken G10 & CLC for it.

The best temps i've had was replacing the stock from fans with 2 Thermalright TY147s, and having the CLC blow out the top. I also use a cryorig R1 Universal for the CPU

What temps are you getting?
