I am just playing around with a Corsair H50, taking temp readings with different fan speeds before I begin to overclock.

I have an additional fan I can add to the fray and I am thinking of setting it up in a push/pull fashion.

The 2 fans available to me are:

Noctua NF-P12 -54.32CFM with a static pressure of 1.68 mm H2O
Akasa AK174CB-4BLB -59.05CFM with a static pressure of 3.57mm H20

What are peoples thoughts on mixing the differently specced fans. would I be better putting the higher static pressure fan pushing air into the radiator and the lower Noctua pulling air out, or vice-verca?

Also would using the Noctua impact performance over say another fan at equal static pressure to the Akasa?

Cheers

Well I will test it out then. Consensus elsewhere seems to be that you should use a more powerful fan to push as the resistance of the rad will reduce the amount of air that needs to be pulled away.

@Zico thanks for the offer buddy, I will email.

I added an apache fan to pull to my setup (akasa viper fan pushing air) and it only dropped temps by about 5C. Didnt think it was worth it for the increased noise level.

Is there a way to split the cpu 4-pin header connection so that it is able to control 2 fans rather than just one? If I could do that, then it would be quiet at idle and a bit noisier on load which would then be worth it.

Pretty sure that you cannot split the header, but Zalman do some cheap fan controllers that should do the job.
