H50 problems

I've just installed my H50- 1 on my Core i7 930 @ 4Ghz quite dissappointed with it i'm getting 89C underload im sure this isnt normal the Cpu volts @ 1.31.
Now when playing games like L4d2 mw2 etc im only getting max of 65C on any of the 4 cores.
Question is Must the cooler be installed a certain way??
I did use artic silver before mounting the mount but i put a thin coat on and i left the Heat paste that came with the cooler.. (no idea why they give that tbh).

Lol, remove the old paste, don't put new over old. I imagine it's a big gloopy mess

thats your problem i think.

only use one paste as one might react to the other.

someone else might say different though.

Sometimes to much paste can have a adverse affect, ie a little is a lot!

I would remove all the paste clean the cpu & cooler with some cleaner form Akasa and reapply the paste.

Remove all of that paste and start over mate... Shouldn't mix pastes nevermind installing more paste on a already set pad of it..

Also do you have your H-50 radiator in with 2 fans in push and pull or just the one fan?

after putting mine in push and pull my temps went down by a staggering 17.C and am running an i7 930 @4.0 with 100% loads that never go above 71C and for general use and gaming i never see them above 60 ever :>

1 fan pushing past the fins of the rad i Cleaned and reseated the cooler seems abit better now.

64C load

on core 1 60ish on the other Cores pretty happy my 4870x2 fan is on 100% during games now >< guess my E5200 @ 3.6Ghz wasnt really feeding the card enough infomation justcause benchmark i went from 51Fps avarage to 78Fps avarage i'm pretty happy.
