h80 backplate doesn't fit fractal arc mini

Since getting a new Haswell motherboard, the different placement of the CPU on the board means that the mounting bracket for my H80 doesn't fit, because the hole in the motherboard tray in my Fractal Arc Mini isn't in the correct place (designed for the position of 1156/1155 CPUs I guess).

As far as I can see there are three possible solutions to this issue:

  • Mount the H80 without the rear bracket. Perfectly do-able since the rear screw holes can be removed from the bracket, but would it be safe? The rear bracket is presumably there to provide rigidity because of the weight of the cooling block, I'm worried that just using the screws might result in damage to the H80.
  • Email Fractal and ask if they can send me a mobo tray with a hole in a suitable position. I imagine their updated Arc Mini would have one in a better place, but who knows.
  • Find someone on the internet who'll make me a suitable mobo tray. Probably quite an expensive route.

What do people think is the best option?

I suppose I could cut the motherboard tray myself, but I have neither the expertise nor the tools with which to do something like that.

Does the backplate not fit if you take the motherboard out first? Might be a silly question but I know from my H100i that the backplate isn't as tall as the stand-offs in my 410.

My standoffs look to be a standard sizing but I don't know about fractal ones.

At first glance I thought it probably wouldn't, but I'll actually give it a go when I get in from work. It's certainly very close though.

take the motherboard out? Did you really not think to take the motherboard out and fit the backplate?

My old arc mini case had the same issue with a 1155 cpu and taking the motherboard out sorted everything
