H80 pump failing

I bought a corsair H80 about 6 months ago, soon after the pump started working at 3800rpm instead of half of that, I spoke with corsair and they told me its faulty and needed changing. I took it to the shop where i bought it, Not ocuk and they swapped it there and then. Since then ive had no problems and tbh still don't but today the pump has done the same again. Do I need to RMA this to the shop again? or is there a way to get it working without going down that route. Other than the pump working too hard, ive no issues, no freezes or crashes. But I Do remember corsair telling me that the pump working that hard will ensure it fails quickly.

I would get it changed - it's engineered and guaranteed to work for at least a year. Do you know if your replacement came from the same batch - you may have been unlucky?

However, if you think that it's not man enough for the job perhaps you could consider 'custom water' or a high end air cooler?

It is doing the job just fine, but i know its not running at the correct pump speed, I don't want to go custom water , wouldnt want to go back to air cooling either. Its superb mate its but this little thing. Ill wait and see what the shop says.

If it's stuck at full throttle then the shop will/should probably change it - or if you're over your year guarantee (~2 x 6 months) you may be asked to send it to Corsair directly.

If their rma process is the same as their PSU - you should have your new unit bakc within 10 days.

Yeah cheers mate, it's a good shop usually np just like ocuk. will soon see. With it being stable and having no problems, you think im ok just to leave it? but then i guess lifespan is unknown.

Shopi bought it finally just got in touch with me, they said bring it in tomorrow and they will change it. And apparentely these pumps are doing this a hell of a lot. Everyone with a h80 should keep an eye on the pump speed. Should never go above 2000rpm.
