So after my old Antec 920 went u/s, picked up a cheeky H80 refurb.

Now, recently the pump has started to "rattle" slightly, this gets worse if the system is on it's side with the pump led facing you.

The rattle happens every so often in the vertical axis, and if l tilt the case to the left it goes away.

Have a H55 on standby.

Would you change it or just live with it.

Temps are all fine, maxing at 48 under full load when set to low.

You can unscrew the pump housing from the bottom, see if it is the pump and tighten it up, the inner o-ring could have worn and be giving it room to rattle.

Some of the pumps make a noise if they are not running full pelt. I would also check the RPM of the pump and make sure it is running at max and not governed by CPU temps.

As an example I have a H55 which if not running at full speed makes a noise. If I run it at max rpm its very quiet.

Will also give this a look, however pump is running between ~1850 to 1950 rpm.

sounds about right still would check.

Hardware monitor reporting 1896 min and 1959 max for pump speed.

Has gone quiet again so will monitor for a bit.

Side note, as it is freezing atm system siting at ~23 at idle :)

Aye well just swapped out the H80 and fitted a H55 with dual 120 red led SPs, strangely at idle the cpu temps are lower :) will check under load later, however system is no longer plagued by the rattle.

I'm having the same issue. Bought it second hand with my new components bundle and it's driving me nuts.
Pressing the button on the pump makes no difference either...

Probably not possible to RMA at this point but I might as well give it a go.

Note- 5 year warranty on these H80s so the guy I bought it from is gonna help me sort it!

When the replacement/refurb comes I'm gonna sell it on and get a Kraken X61... or maybe save a few pennies and get a Corsair H100i. As long as I can control the fan speed... damn. Cos this pump+fan is LOUD
