Ok guys ive kinda decided im gonna RMA my 4th Corsair h80, this one is too damn noisy. Screeching is pretty bad. Now i aint getting a replacement h80 this time im gonna get them to swap it for something else. What do u guys recommend? I have 2 gentle typhoons with it, so i can use them on any other cooler. Performance wise this is great, and this time the pump hasnt failed at least haha

I just want something that performs as well if not better but is quiet mate. I live near the shop, its ocuk's biggest competitor and i obviously wont say the name lol. Its 75 pound there, so wouldnt want to pick something over that. They are pretty decent instore and just swap things for you. I have low profile ram so no problem getting any large cooler

The h100 i suspect would have the same issues with pump problems and noise. Im really put off by corsair's hydro series now, the d14 is that as good as the hydros?

Haha yeah, would be strange putting both in a system lol. Might go for the d14 then. The fans that come with it, are they as good as the gentle typhoons i already have which ive been using on the H80?

the pump issue affects the h100 less than the h80, but its all down to luck whether u get a dud or not i guess ;p
the d14 actually performs as well as the h100

replace "silver arrow" with "d14" they're both roughly comparable

but the d14 is *massive*

Ok cool, ill go into the shop tomorrow and see what they say. Im sure they will be fine to swap it. Never thought i would go back to air cooler, but it will have to be done. Cheers guys.

not really sure, could try the d14 at stock and then swap to the gt to compare i guess xD

Yeah i might do that, or just use the typhoons elsewhere on the case. The shop has both the silver arrow dual fan and d14 dual fan in stock. They do seem to perform very similar.

With your 1200 case it should be no problem.. unless your ram is real tall. Ram + fan = clearance needed.
D14 uses 1x120mm & 1x140mm fans
Phantek uses 2x140mm fans so needs 20mm more ram clearance.

Yeah its low profile ram mate, no problems there, Gonna goto work now ill have a good look tonight, just watched an interesting videos on youtube, someone tested the d14 against the silver arrow over many hours worth of testing and the d14 won clearly. So im thinking thats the way to go. thanks mate

SA has a new SA SB-E out which is as good as D14
Phanteks fans are not PWM, but kit includes a real PWM adapter and splitter so fans actually run PWM. Nice bit of kit.
