Hey, just a quick question.
I have my h80i mounted in my case with the sata connector powered by the PSU and the fan connector into the cpu fan header on the motherboard.
I don't have my fans connected to the h80i though, they are on a fan controller.

Question is do I need to have the CPU connector that is attached to the h80i connected to the motherboard for the h80i to run? or does it just need the sata connector powered? I'm wanting to get a splitter and run both of the fan's separate from the h80i but connected to the CPU header on the motherboard.

I was looking at the h80i and from what i gathered it just needs power the cable for the cpu header is just so the BIOS can read pump speed/temps. Set BIOS to ignore CPU Fan Header and u shouldnt need it plugged in. I also have a fan controller hence why i was looking

If you have a spare sys_fan header then you can plug the H80i into one of those, which imo would be better than not having it plugged in at all, even though it would still work.

I have a H100i and I have the RPM feed plugged into my SYS_FAN_1 (because I'm using CPU_FAN to run the fans). In the BIOS I've enabled the monitor to shut down my system should the the pump fail (ie read no RPM on the feed)
