Is it worth changing my motherboard?
I recently downsized my PC case and that meant I had to migrate my Gigabyte H97M-D3H mATX motherboard into it.
I have a:
4790K CPU
GTX1080
Antec Kúhler H2O 1250 Liquid CPU Cooler
One thing I didnt think about at the time, was that whether or not it would be possible to overclock my 4790K CPU on a H97M-D3H, research suggests I would need a Z97 in order to do so.
There is a Z97 mATX here on OC - https://www.overclockers.co.uk/asus...150-ddr3-micro-atx-motherboard-mb-616-as.html - would it be worthwhile upgrading my board for something like this in order to get a good overclock, or would it make little real-world difference for gaming?
