hacked off with arch linux, where next?

I find it easy to install, I'm just getting sick and tired of trying to get a full working system, then some thing breaks. Then I have to re-format and start again lol

exor, as much as this sickens me, I may try debian again lol.
 
lol lol lol I fixed the problem with Arch, it was a permissions issue which wouldn't let firefox start.

I am going to look into debian later and see if I can workout what version I wanna download lol.

Do they have a testing version of kde4 liveCD?
 
ok attributed the reason as to why I have been cursing Arch linux......

drum roll....

its because kde4.2/kdemod4.2 is so poor its laughable!!

Uninstalled kdemod and currently downloading trusty Gnome.

Gnome rocks!!! no crashes, no stupid plasmoids going missing coursing fatal crashes. Bliss

Now trying to configure compiz-fusion, suprised you still have to wrestle with compiz to get it to work.

Ubuntuforums.org has came to the rescue a lot of times already!!

I haven't tried opensuse since 10.0, which was in 05 or early 06 i think. I only tried gnome as well.

I didn;t get on with yast back then, Its kinda not fair for me to comment on opensuse current version, theres a lot of love for opensuse with kde4, I think the devs at suse alter it a lot to get it to work.

My experience with KDE4.2 qnd kdemod 4.2 this week has been a bad one. Sadly all the hearsay on the internet in my opnion is true. KDE4 is still not fit to use.

Opensuse 11.3 may run perfect with all the edits they do. Burn a liveCD and give it a whirl. Let us now how it runs, Iw ould be interested to know tbh.

I for one an sticking with Arch and gnome, it is great :p

Will opensuse be your first linux experience?

I also hear mandriva is good with KDe4, a lot of people are saying that Kubuntu 8.10 as come on leaps and bounds, I tried kubuntu 7.10 and 8.04, and they stank, hence my reluctance to try again.

I love arch to much now, especially pacman and the wiki pages :)

It should do, you install wireless drivers that come with the base-devel package I think.

Best bet would be to search the wiki/forums for your wireless chipset and see if its supported before you dive in.
