Well, just thought i would share this good news as i'm chuffed, my gf's sister's boyfriend decided a couple months ago that his pc had broken and bought a lappy, discarding the pc to te shed, i spoke to him the other week about it and he said come pick it up if you want and if you can do owt with it its yours, so i pop down last night, load in what is just 2 boxes in the dark so i'm unsure of what i'm getting, anyways took it back to the gf's fired the first one up in a window case witht he front end hanging off, didn't hold much hope, his error that he had thought was his pc bneing knackered was essentially a shorted out hdd, so i pulled one of her mum's now RIPing PC and plonked it in, surely enough it boots up, jumps into windows, so time to check out the hardware i've inherited
AMD 64 3000
1gb RAM
DVD RW
DVD ROM
Geforce 4 MX440 gfx
Not a bad haul for free, so i proceeded to do the same with the other one (again missing a hdd and memory so i pulled 512 from the XP 64)
AMD XP 2800
512MB RAM
Old compaq machine seemed in perfect working order, just need a hdd for one or the other and they're good to go!
Was very chuffed with my luck!
