Hi guys

Had a bit of a bump the other night and not entirely sure who's to blame.

The other car was waiting on my right, there was a yellow box infront of me. (For people using the junction i was exiting to get out of while the lights to my left were on red). Other car was outside the yellow box to my right. I looked to my left, lights were on red so i started to move out, the other car starts to move towards me so i stop, look to my left and the lights are on amber. By this time i was halfway across the junction and he was to my right. We both stopped, looked at each other, and because i was already half way across the junction i assumed he was letting me out as he shouldn't have moved into the yellow box. So i began to move again. Just as i set off he starts to move aswell and moves to the right to go round me and then it happened. it all happened a bit quick and to be honest neither of us were sure whos fault it was. I have damage to my drivers side wing and the other car had a smashed headlight and dented bonnet and wing.

So, who is to blame?

Yeah i know it all happened a bit quick, but the lights were definitely not on green when he started to move. Its all a bit weird because he started to move when i moved out initially and then we both stopped and assumed each was letting the other go.

knock for knock i'd say.

you could argue that as the damage is to the side of your car that he drove into you tho, and shift the blame towards him. If it gets contested in court i'd suspect a knock for knock to be the verdict tho
