basically - I changed all 4 cables on my HDD's - straight swap very carefully done - and lost my whole RAID 10!!!

Anyway - I only lost 4 CD's that I had burned that afternoon and am back up and running.

Now that I have reinstalled all my software and windows XP - when the PC boots into windows it goes straight into the logon screen rather than windows desktop which is doing my head in - how do I get it to just load windows to the desktop screen as normal?

go to control panel - user acounts - change the way users log on/off and untick "fast user switching"

none of that works - now I get the standard square windows logon box with my name in it - wanting a password!

how do I get it to just load windows please?

Have you recently installed .net framework? Delete the user "asp". I seem to recall this doing this for me ages ago when I used XP.

just done that - no difference - still comes up with the logon box!

Switch Off the Guest Account as well.

And remove the password off the account if there is one (if using the Windows Option). From my memory I think with TweakUI you can type in an account password as well.
