Managed to spill a small bit of coolant that was still stuck in the gpu block on my card when taking it off to change to paste. It wasn't major as most of it landed on the front faceplate and vrm heatsinks, some did land on the pcb and slightly connector however. Quickly dried it off with kitchen towls and Q-tips,then blasted it within hairdryr and have left it to air overnight.

Is their much else to try before hooking it back up 2nite and praying for the Best?

Edit:was some mayhem x1 coolant

Nope... Just let it dry well...

I took my loop to bits a while ago, removed a tube going to the cpu block and loads a coolant came out... All over my 3930k and board, in the RAM slots, all over the socket etc... Stuff from a horror movie.. Feel that pain!

Left it in frnt of a fan heater for hours and built it back up the next day... No problems a year down the line :D

Other option is to leave it in an airing cupboard over night in a tub full of rice... I think it's meant to pull any moisture out, I reckon loads of Asians turn up in the night and fix it though, believe what you want :D
Lol

Luckily I didn't spill very much,it was just the dregs stuck in the block, rest of my rig was rebuilt after gutting it,just had to change the paste put back in and fill. Sucked to say the least

Be4 leaving for work I put my thermosphere back on and left the card lying on my desk, intend to give it another blast of hairdryr when I get in later and plumb it back in.

Might be tempted to boot from onboard gpu 1st without the card powered when finished leak test/bleeding just to be safe

I really don't wanna have to go buy a 980ti lol. :D

Heres a pic that shows the worst area of the spill, just above the end of the pci conector, took this last nite just after it happened. After the intal clean this was the only part where it was visible that coolant had spilled on it

It has booted :D

Seems ok,need to bench it to make it sure, will come bac and confirm maybe some pics too ;)

Seems to bench fine too,

also!

Thermal grizz is awesome. 7c delta from my water now for my gpu, almsot worth the headache it caused me

Potato pic i just took from phone, still need to swap over the 8pin for cpu and 6 pin for gpu to the matching UV braided cables i havent finished!
