So I had a crash about a year ago thats not been resolved blame wise (3rd party apparently just isn't talking to their insurance) and almost daily I get the ambulance chasers telling me i've not claimed the £thousands i'm owed for my non-existent injuries & inconvenience.

Is there anything i can do (apart from claiming) to shut them up? Anyone else get this?

The ones I like the best are the ones who pretend to be an independent government agency asking how well my insurance company dealt with the claim & 'make me aware of the compo available'

Block the numbers as they ring is the only thing you can do, just answering the phone leaves you on the list of 'potential claimants' resulting in more calls.

I'm afraid that if it was like me once they get your name and number its a case of grin and bear it. It did die down after a while though. In the end, once I knew everything was resolved I just kept telling them that their records were wrong and to remove me from their calling list

Tell them if they ring again then you'll be suing them for harassment, using another parasitic bunch of "lawyers". They soon stop.

I've changed tactic now, I answer the phone saying "West Yorkshire police, detective chief inspector kefkef speaking" then when they start stammering out their shpeel about insurance I tell them they've called a police on-call phone for a murder inquiry and if they don't cease calling I'll arrange for some of the local police to call round for a word!

Seems to be working for now!

Last time I was called I told them that several people were killed in the accident. They guy didn't know what to say and hung up. (It was actually a <5mph parking bump!)

I played along with one last year, they booked an appointment & sent someone round to go through some paperwork that I needed to sign, I didn't answer the door.

Should have said you were investigating fraudulent personal injury insurance claims.

(Unfortunately, both tactics probably constitute impersonating a police officer, which is an offence)

Just say "oh you are an ambulance chaser" and they have a paddy and hang up on me. Took about two weeks for all of them to stop calling (3-4 a day)

Is it specifically about that accident or is it just cold callers? I get calls all the time and I've not had an accident that fits their criteria of 'the past 2 years' or whatever they spout. They generally get all evasive when I ask them for details of 'the accident', they're just trying their luck.

I like to have a chat if i have time, keep them on as long as possible. Then at the end "so how did you like me wasting your time for a change"
