HAF 932 Front Fan LED?

Can the HAF 932 Advanced front fan led be switched off?

If not, can you cut the led power from the fan?

Fancy this case for my X-mas treat to myself but I demand total darkness while playing games and movies.

I would take a hammer to it if it stayed like this:

The front fan in the 932 is really nowhere NEAR as bright as it looks in that picture! Especially after it gets full of dust lol - I bet you'd hardly notice it to be honest.

But no, it's not switchable (not in the non-advanced model anyway) although snipping the wires to the LED's is a simple job :)
Just don't forget to tape up the snipped ends to avoid accidental contact/shorts :)
 
Led power usually comes from the fan PCB itself and it is normal to see it come from 4 points. You will need to cut at least one wire on each LED to stop them lighting up. You could also completely remove the LEDs and wires from the fan if you are sure you'd never want them. If you are undervolting the fan the LEDs will get progressively dimmer anyway so may not be obtrusive.

I wonder if you could get the case as quiet as your existing though. The door on p18x really do block lots of noise.
 
The red on the front isn't as bright as the display pictures which I was disapointed about but oh well. As said above though, the blue led's on the front panel are soo damn bright, I ended up putting a black sticker over them to block 90% of the light.

With the fan, you could ofcourse just swap it out for a non led fan :)

That's what I've been thinking Tealc, the noise from the case would be an issue too, I'm still undecided on what case to get, the HAF is HUGE but possibly noisy.

The Raven 3 RV03B interests me too along with one of the Obsidian 650D/Graphite 600T but they are smaller than the HAF.

I don't really want to spend money on a case that is noisier, though the fans will be controlled, even switched off with a Nesteq FanMax.

I have the HAF 932 Advanced and the case itself really isn't noisy, 1 GPU is louder than everything else in the case combined.
 
All those exposed fan holes would surely be a way for noise to escape. On my P183 I find the rear 700rpm-850rpm Apache is the loudest fan to me ears as it has a totally unrestricted noise escape path.

The HAF 932 of course has a big gaping fan hole at the front, one at the side and one at the rear and the least said about the top the better.

I'm sure it'll cool better than the P182 with dual cards in there Tommy but I'm not wholly convinced you'll find it quieter.

The trouble with looking at reviews and what not for cases is that people's idea of noisy can be very different to yours or mine. Saying that though I did find the stock P183 far too noisy, even with low fan, and that's marketed as a noise dampened case.

I've often thought I might like a different case with larger fans up front but to be honest I don't have any heat issues with the P183 with slow fan speed. Things get a little warm inside and case temp is a good few degrees above ambient but nothing is really hotter than it can cope with. If I were to swap I might be tempted by one of those Raven RV03 cases. I quite like the rotation idea and the fact that there is a fan slot right next to where my graphics card is located, it could do with being a tad lower but I'm sure a 114mm holesaw would help with that.
