HAF-X - anyone burned their firewire chip

It seems that the soldered joiints on the front panel pcb are very sharp. And some people have ended up frying their firewire chip on their board as a result :eek:

Anyone had an issue or care to check their pcb ?

I was lucky enough to get 1 of the newer ones with PSU filter and a piece of clear plastic to protect the front panel pcb. I knew of the issue beforehand, and I also reinforced the troublesome area with insulation tape. There are horror stories of motherboards being fried as soon as a usb or other device is used on the front panel :eek:

Yeah, read about them. Was curious if anyone had one which killed their board. I was buying one today from OCUK for my brother. In the end chickened out and changed my order to a 600T.

Was not aware of this problem, but then again, i removed all cables to front panel except the USB's, when i first got my case, and Firewire is disabled in my BIOS...

Apart from that, this case rocks...

I read that a while back, didn't put me off buying, just made sure i checked it first, it was all neat and tidy.
