Hey guys,

Basically after removing the bottom HDD bay so i've got better air flow and because all i've got in them is an SSD and a HDD. This leads onto my other question, is there any adapters I can buy to fit into my HDD bay (5.25") to fit my HDD and SSD in because i've got x5 5.25" slots free.

Ta.

Just a quick bump for anyone wondering about the same thing. I stumbled on this by accident after fitting a new CPU and mobo today. Basically the x2 removable drives in the 5.25 slots (hot-swappable) have mounting holes for 3.5 and 2.5 drives!

No need to buy any adapters now, i'll be fitting my 1TB drive under it too when that arrives.

when i had a HAFX i took out the hdd cage to make room for a front radiator.it can be don e very easily.just drill out the rivets. i put my hdds i8n the 5.25 cage by getting some clear perspex and cutting it to 5.25 width and drilling holes to screw the hdds to it.then line up the perspex in the 5.25 tray and drill holes in the sides to screw it to the case.easy really and very effective.looks good too

Could you please post a picture of the HAF-X with the hard drive cage removed. If it's possible, because I would love to do the same with mine. Thank you

Don't think i'll be removing it mate, sorry. It's riveted in and if I come to selling off the case i'm not sure how i'll be able to put the cage back, it'll probably look like a right mess with some M4 screws in. If you can find anyone who's done it though, could you post here please as i'd like to see the finished product.

Sorry, I didn't read it right. If you get time is would be nice to see some pictures (really interested) I would like to remove the bottom hard drive cages, that is possible with some of the newer cases, just to improve airflow.

Have you got a newer revision than mine? My HDD cage is riveted in, if your screwed in? If it is, go ahead and remove it and it'll be a piece of cake to put back.

I wish it was screwed in, but no its riveted. Because these is 5 or 6 hd bays (not sure without looking) i was just going to saw them off to leave 2 bays at the top. That what i thought you were doing which is why i wanted to see pictures to see how you achieved it and how it looked. thanks for the help anyway, I'll just try it and see how it turns out :)

Removed mid hdd cage, ssd cage and one which is fixed with rivets. Used bay adaptor for ssd and scythe himuro to silence and fix hdd in the drive bay

PS: storm enforcer and haf-x is same case essentially. I will upload a picture a bit later, school run in a minute :D

I'm really tempted so get rid of the cage now, any one here done it and if so, how? I can see me making a dog's dinner of it, my hands are massive and the rivets that i'd need to get out are in awkward spots.
