So i will be shortly getting a HAF X

now i dont know which fans come with the case and which i need to buy.

a lot of people are suggesting 2 x Coolermaster Mega-Flow 200mm Red Case Fan for the top of the case, okay well thats sorted.

now what other fans do i need? i want fans in all available ducts / spaces? what size are they and what do you guys recommend?

also im thinking i would need a pci bay fan controller and a 3.25" bay fan controller, the bay controller would be best to use for the 2 top fans and the front fan yeah? the pci fan controller would be best for the rear, side and vga, yeah?

any recommendations on which controllers? i can google sources if i know the makes and models.

I wouldm't actually recommend installing 2 fans in the roof. You will be in danger of expelling the cool air brought in from the front intake fan before it gets to your components. There was a similar issue with the atcs 840 where both roof fans came installed and a lot of owners disconnected the one nearest the front of the case as it helped wth temps.

depends on how you look at things, if you have a lot of hard drives, then the air will be hot well before it gets to the cpu and graphics cards, therefore you may want it expelled.

i think exhausts are better than intake, less dust that way and air will always find its way in, one way or another, so i wonder how a case would work with purely exhausts and no intakes?

True if like you say you have multiple hdd's. Having all exhasuts sounds good for having low dust levels but there would be very little air flow in the case which is where I guess the haf x's massive front and side intake come in!

I also use the gpu duct fan to blow into my cards which are pretty hot cards but both sit happily at 40-42 degrees at the moment which is brilliant considering how they're on top of each other!

The HAF-X comes with a 230mm fan at the front, 200mm fan on the side, 200mm fan in the top and 140mm fan on the rear.

There's not really much more you can add.

You can add a 120 on the drive bays aimed at the gpu and an 80 on the gpu holder aimed at the gpu. You don't need both but if you want one I recommend the 120.

you can add 3 more fans then

another 200mm on the top.

one on the drive bays and another on the gpu holder.

thanks for clearing up the fans guys, whats the best way of controlling them then.

a pci controller and a 5.25" drive bay controller?

Perhaps I should have said not much more you can add that makes any difference.

Another 200mm on top not needed for air cooling.

And only one or the other on the drive bays and the gpu holder.
