HAF X loud?

I've just spotted this bundle on the weekly deals.

As they are designed for airflow, is it very loud? (i.e is it going to annoy the missus)

Also is the PSU any good? I'm only going with single graphics card at first but i'd like to have the infrastrcture in place to upgrade to an SLI config.

I've got about £150 to spend on PSU/Case so this seems like a good bet.
 
The cooling isn't particularly loud, you can always by silent fans. The PSU will suit most situations, it will easily handle a single graphics card.

The haf-x is loud, purely because of the volume of air moved.

I'm planning on fitting a fan controller to mine and maxing out the fans soon and will report back.
 
The standard fans that come with the case are not load at all.

I just wish my GTX 470's were just as quiet tho. :(

Please do not get this case, you will be so disappointed.

Expensive product for cheap and nasty workings. Don't buy this case.

This was an option for me as a case for my next build, I inspected one in the flesh and cant believe how bad the product is.

You would be far better of with Fractal Design Define R3 or the Fractal Design Define XL: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/productlist.php?groupid=701&catid=7&subid=1556

My own haf x is quiet (though the credit goes more to the components inside I guess).

It's own stock fans are fine, the criticisms some others have levelled at the case is that it doesn't do anything to help supress component noise (as it's so airy), so it's like operating with the side door off all the time.
 
Cheers for the heads up on the NZXT.

Think i'll go for the Fractal then - i'm sick of looking at cases! I prefer the minimalist look to the army style haf-x too. Cheers all!
 
Good choice, would'nt want to to get the NZXT in the post and be like "what the he'll did I order!??!?!?" lol

Haa that's why i always ask! Will be building in the next week or so and i'll post some pics in the main forum. Fingers crossed i don't break anything
 
I love my Haf x. running 4.8ghz 2600k and 2 ati 6950 bios flashed watercooled. tripple rad in top and 120 rad in back. very roomy and i can tell u its very quiet. i have owned loads of cases and this is the best. i would not hesitate in buying another 1.
