Hahnel Giga T Pro II

Thinking of getting one of the above to accompany the 40D.

I have the Hahnel Pro Remote Control at the moment, but I can't try out any timelapse photography with it hence the idea of the Giga II above.

Any other recommendations or ... ?

Ps: Any idea how much my current remote is worth?

If you search for 'wireless timer' on the auction site you'll find quite a few. The Hahnel is the smallest and one of the two most expensive but you do get a selection of cables with each one. I've just bought a Hahnel as I needed a new toy. Not tried it properly yet but I don't like needing a screwdriver to change the battery in the controller. Also the indicator LED is hidden by your left thumb if you hold the controller in both hands, as seems natural.

Thanks. I've found the other one on the 'bay.. Any idea how reliable they are for half the price of the Hahnel?

Probably no difference at all. The main difference is that the cheaper ones don't have an LCD in the camera end. There's a Pixel model that does (and looks identical to the Hahnel) and it's near enough the same price as the Hahnel.
