So I have a slightly worse than hairline crack in the ceiling on the landing, there is a joist above said crack. It's the only part of the ceiling that does have a crack even though there are other joists above the ceiling.
Not sure if this could have anything to do with it but there is a light screwed to that joist. I have V'ed out the crack before and filled but the crack has come back. Do you think screwing plaster board screws either side of the crack and re filling would sort the problem ?
Any other solutions ?

Cheers

Is the joist parallel to the crack or perpendicular? Could be where 2 boards meet, and maybe it wasn’t taped. Could rake out the crack. Tape it then fill it.

More likely the boards moving where they are joined, you can try screwing it and using a fibre/flexible filler. I have something similar to tackle soon.
