My pal wants a Dell 34" UWS monitor

The problem he has is his case only accepts half height cards.

The only card I can see is the HD 5450 SILENT 1024MB GDDR3 PCI-Express but it only runs at 2560x1600

The dell U3415W will only do 3440*1440 @60hz over DisplayPort, so unfortunately that card listed earlier wont be able to drive that monitor 60hz. (only 24hz over HDMI).

Sorry but I haven't been able to find a low profile card with DisplayPort output.

My 3415 is currently doing 3440x1440 60hz via HDMI on a GTX970

Surely the easier option here would be for your friend to get a new case lol!? I don't know why you'd choose to run this monitor on a vastly inferior GPU than what it requires to run at its best.

Ah it appears that my earlier information is not quite correct, the monitor will do 3440*1440 @60hz over HDMI but only HDMI 2.0, but the card listed earlier wont do it due to only having HDMI 1.4.

Sorry for that.

Good luck running much at 3440x1440 with that card lol! :D Hope your friend doesn't intend on gaming?
No gaming :)

I did suggest that to him

at work i use an AMD HD8490 (dell OEM). low profile, display port and dvi on board. works fine at 3440x1440/60 and they are cheap as chips.
Looked at the spec and according to dell that cars only runs 2560x1600 so interested that you managed to get 3440x1440 out of it  Would be good if it dis, as you say cheap as chips http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Dell-AMD-...669695?hash=item28160d69ff:g:vF8AAOSwhDdXERds

by selecting 3440x1440 in windows, lol.

the hd8xxx series supports Displayport 1.2, max res is way over 3440x1440/60 :) besically anything with displayport 1.2 should do the job.
