Hi,

Does or more like DID anyone play HL1 multiplayer seriously/competitively "back in the day"?

Mods like Severians Mod or AG? I haven't touched it for a good amount of years now but back then I played 6 hours a night, every night, with the American clan I was part of. So it required a lot of late nights as they were all on EST time. I mostly played Sevs mod but was a member of the best clan of them all at the time until we all quit.

Also loved AG which was dominated by us here in Europe (not me personally, I was never THAT good at this mod). There was some seriously awesome players kicking around AG though and that game required fantastic skill, something that would put a lot of modern games where people think they are "good" to absolute shame.

Just wondering if anyone on here was into this way back in what seems a million years ago now! :(
 
Yes.. I run one of the KIA teams in hlccl..

The immortal Garpy is one of my mates. Used to play in a league every Sunday night..

I think there are some Ag servers floating around that play arena mode every now and again.

Like Enigma I used to play in the HLCCL. I was terrible but had so much fun playing with FlowerPower, VLK and SOS :D

Good memories! I even made an AVI! :D

Ahh awesome! Enigma, that rings bells..... Or was there a dude who played for aRT I think it was who called himself Enigma? Dodgy memory, so many screen names coming back into my brain confusing me.

Cool AVI though man, I thought I was the only person anywhere around who actually played HL but turns out there was someone else just up the road in St.Andrews this entire time! haha. I am from Fife also :)

I am almost actually tempted now to install HL on Steam... and promptly realise how awful I am now and be disappointed that I can't be back to my glory days in a matter of minutes.... Booooo!

Bunnyhopping around the rapidcore corridors was mad, no current game gives the feeling of speed/skill/accomplishment that half life did in this way. Nothing ever came close for me.

I was in Ballingry, wee village next to Lochgelly/Cowdenbeath but I moved to Nairn and now live in Inverness :p
 
Lol, not suprised to see Enigma and Psymonkee in here.

I also played but not for some time now. Used to love playing AG and even basic hldm but it became increasingly difficult to find an AG server not playing Last man standing which I never found particularly fun.

Archangel. Yet another name ringing major bells.

Archangel and Enigma were names you guys actually used in game right? I definitely recognise them.
 
Deffo used those names because I remember seeing Enigma/Archangel <shotgun/machine gun/gauss> Psymonkee....ALL THE TIME :D

Those crowbar kills were always satisfying though ;)
