dunno if this has been covered before but I just started using 64-bit vista and when I went to play half-life 2 its laggy and juttery. I know its the 64-bit causing problems on it cause all the 32-bit steam games run fine. Anyone know how to solve this or how to set half-life 2 to run in 32-bit mode?

crazy.. HL2-64 works fine for me.. do you have SP1 installed? What grfx drivers?

hl2 64bit sucks for me too. got an "ai disabled" message (which literally means all NPCs just stand there doing nothing) after loading from a save. a quick google tells me to run 32bit mode.

on a slightly unrelated note, now i have an 3850 card, the jaggies in game are terrible. using the ingame aa/af options have no affect whatsoever???? using my old x1950pro, it was fine....:p

edit: seems the problem is with the 6x MSAA option in game. turning it down to 4x is fine.

Yeah same problem here plus it can't offer much benefit because they released The Orange Box on the 32-bit engine and they did have the 64-bit one availiable.

thnx I loaded it with -32bit, knew it would be something simple like that. Works fine now. Dunno what part of 64 is causing problems. Its not framrate or anything, yuo walk forwards and its like lag, it bounces yuo back and forth... weird
