Getting a weird texture bug in HL2. I read previoulsy that there was a bug with this game with something not getting rendered correctly, although can't for the life of me find the thread so sorry if this is a dupe. See screenshot below, in particular the door, pipes and cupboards. They are a very light gray colour and not really sure why.

That the bug that everyone was getting not long ago? Although I thought Valve were meant to have fixed it?

Yup, its the fog issue. As you've said, they did fix it. Is your game fully up to date? Updated to the latest catalyst drivers?
Think so yeah. Using the 7.6 Catalyst drivers, and the HL2 version has just been downloaded from Steam today, I'd assume it includes all up to date fixes...

Thanks Tom! Sent you an e-mail with the save file attached.

From the save point you can either look at Alex down the hall who is a light gray colour until your standing right next to her, or the door, pipes and cupboards at the other end.

Sent, thanks :)

Also tried with AAA turned off, and still the same. Tried fiddling around with all the graphics settings in game also, ie. turning everything to low or off and the problem persists in that area where I have the save game.

Not far from the start, it's the room that you enter just after Alex rescue's you from the Combine beatdown and she pressed a switch on a wall that opens up a secret door :) Also just to note, I was also getting fog issues in the main square area when you exit out of the train station at the start of the game. Will see if I can get a screeny of that with an older auto-save.

Edit: Nah don't have one :( It's been overwritten with newer auto-saves.

i'm looking into this now for you

-gah, a steam update!

-seems to be only certain objects in your savegame, outside

-happens on starting a new game :( *sigh* seems to be items with reflections only, so vending machines, gates, posts....

-they did not fix it fully then :o

Ah well, guess they still have some fixing to do. Kinda unfortunate, was looking forward to going through the Half-Life 2 game again and Episode 1, guess I'll have to wait :(

But thanks for checking it out for me :)
