Half-Life 2 came out 10 years ago... Anyone else feel old?!

After posting in the "Are you addicted to buying Steam games" thread, I realised that my Steam account has just hit 10 years old yesterday, coinciding with the release of Half-Life 2.

Seems like a world away, I was still in college - turned up late that morning after "missing the bus" (or rather queuing up outside GameStation to pick up a copy before they sold out! ).

Now 10 years later I'm old and "sensible"

Anyone else feel old?

I remember being "ill" that day. I was cacking my pants as I was worried I would see my boss when into town to get it.

When Quakeworld hits 20 in 2016, that's when I'll feel old I think

2004 was a great year for FPS though - FC, D3 and HL2 all of which can still stand up on their own merits today IMO. Even graphically they are what I would call perfectly acceptable i.e. all have their own particular graphical styles none of which make me turn the monitor off in disgust (by comparison with some 90s games).

Doom came out almost 21 years ago. I remember playing it on a sloooow PC (pretty quick in its day though!!).

Pretty much remember this to the day. My friend got it release day but wouldn't run on his PC as it's specs were so poor... it barely ran on mine but I just had to play it so I ended up buying a new PC.

Remember being 14 and clockwatching whilst at school, in anticipation to get home and play it. Good times. Back in the day of the good old Pentium 4 and Nvidia FX5900 ultra.

Nope, I remember playing Half-Life 1 on release and installing my 3DFX card to play it.
