Half-Life 2 came out 10 years ago... Anyone else feel old?!

It was THE first Steam game, if I remember Steam launched the same day HL2 was released or slightly before.
I'm pretty sure Steam was out before that, as I remember having no end of problems trying to play CS through it.
When HL2 came out it "re-launched" though.

HL2 was the first game to require Steam client to play.
Yeah, I think CS needed it to play online, after they got rid of WON, but there were loads of patching & various other teething problems =(

Not as old as remembering emailing Gabe Newell a few days before the release of the original HL (I don't even recall how I found his address), asking him to confirm the date it was coming out in the UK. I can't recall the exact date, but he promised me that "the gaming world will change forever" - hehe, he did a pretty good job of living up to his claims 
I also remember waiting for the local Game to open, grabbing a copy and staring at it on my desk all day before rushing home to install...

Still have an unused voucher to acquire the game through Steam free that came with a Radeon 9800XT, I keep it for the memories of the one of the best series of ATI graphics cards ever made; the 9500 Pro, 9700 Pro and 9800 Pro/XT, stunning cards when compared to the then NVidia offering and completely wrong footed the Green Team for quite some time!
