Half Life 2 Crashing at Loading Screen

Hi there.

I decided to play through Half Life 2 again, The game loads fine and it was playing flawlessy.

I got to the part where im on the boat going through all the waterways and I get to a loading screen, it says Loading and then quits to the desktop, It only happens at that screen, I can load a previous level and get to a loading screen and it loads fine, its just that point in the game.

Ive reinstalled DirectX and Updated my Gc Drivers.

Im running the Q6600 2.4Ghz, 2gb Ram, GeForce 8800Gts 512.

I checked my System temps to make sure its not a problem with overheating but they are fine.

Anybody got any ideas?

You tried "verify the integrity of game cache" option in Steam?

Ok, I just tryed that and said things were fine, Does the Button Delect Local Contect Uninstall Half Life 2? And if it does, Do i lose my save games?

It will delete the game files, not sure about saved games so I would back them up first. So esentially it does uninstall the game but you can click "install" on it at any time and it will fetch the files from Steam.
