Half Life 2 : CS Problem.

Hey ive just put in a new graphics card. ( Ati X850XT PE 256mb ) and when playing CS i get the following Error midway though a game.

failed to lock Vertex buffer in CMeshDX8:::LockVertexBuffer

Ive never had this problem with my X1250 onboard or my X1950GT. Anyone know why i'm getting this and more importantly how to fix it?
