Hiyahh! :D

Im finally playing half life 2 and gonna finish it this time (got angry since i deleted my saves years back lol)!

Browsing around here, i came across a mod that made things super real looking... like alex etc?

I for the life of me can not remember the name of it :(

Can anyone help... or even tell me of other great visual mods for hl2... that dont effect the gameplay?

Thanks! :D

Craig :)

I think the one you're thinking about is called the 'Cinematic Mod'.
Lately the maker has has a torturous time making it as people kept baiting and name-calling him and the mod he created, as some of the OPTIONAL features it had, they didn't like. :) It's sad that this happens, but against all odds he released version 6 not long ago, after a fair absence, good on him! :D:cool:
Here is a thread on version 5 and the link above is one of 4 main parts, and there are two additional patches as well, it weighs in at a hefty 3.7 GB.

That looks very interesting indeed. I'd like to try it out, but I'm on 32bit XP. :[

Unfortunately, it's pretty RAM intensive, even on 32 bit systems.
Turning down the texture detail negates the usefulness of the mod. :(

I'll be getting a 2GB set soon, which should help. Not sure if keeping the gig I've got now (making 3gb with all slots filled) will help or hurt though when I get my new set though.

I'd run a couple of benchmarks using Sisoft Sandra, to see if there is any speed decrease using your old stuff. If there isn't, you might as well leave it in. :)
