Half Life 2: Episode 2 display issue with HUD

Hi All

Can anyone tell me how to fix this issue? (I added the white arrow)

Only happens on HL2, ep2. ep1 and HL2 are fine. Any and all suggestions welcome

Cool. Did you reinstall the GUI, and if so, how did you do it?

Okay, I've tried switch resolutions, turning the HUD on and off with the developers console, the slowhacking fix, updated my display drivers - is there anything else I should be trying?

I tried, still no joy. I might play on, and hope it is only the torch that is messed up and not the ammo counter as well.
