Half Life 2: Episode 2

I just wanted to post and recommend this for anyone, however unlikely who maybe hasn't played it, it is a fantastic game.

Let me just say that I thought Half Life 2 was one of the most boring, unoriginal overhyped games I ever played, never liked it, didn't think too much of the original either tbh. I recently played episode 1 and it felt like much of the same, so with trepidation I went and played episode 2.

Now i'm glad I soldiered on through the mundane first few games as episode 2 is excellent, imaginative story, some inspired gaming scenarios, tougher than the others...basically in my eyes exactly how a game should be.

So, if like me you didn't like the first few half life games, go ahead and give this a shot, you may be surprised

Just finished EP2 . Brilliant but the end came a bit quick i thought i was about 3/4 thru.

Tell me about it, just loaded it up about 10 minutes ago, thought I had loads left, then over...thought it was going to continue a lot more

How can you not like the original? Its amazing!

Probably because it came out the same time as Deus Ex, everyone was raving about HL and when playing it after playing DE, it just seemed pretty boring.

Deus Ex came out over a year after Half Life

But I never upgraded to a pc that could play either until both were in the shops

Everyone must simply play them even if they only have a passing interest in FPSs IMO.

That's basically the only reason I played them...just that episode 2 rose above the others and was a standout, it's is the only part I would recommend to anyone.

Everything seems boring after Deus Ex mate, it's the best game ever created

I've never played it, would it be worth playing even now, after HL2 and Bioshock, Crysis etc? I was late in the gaming scene, so HL2 was my first proper FPS experience.

Story...definately, gameplay...possibly, graphics...probably not...however, avoid Deus Ex 2: Invisible War, it's awful!
