Half Life 2 error?

I'm sick of not having anything to play, so I decided to install HL2 again, and finally get around to completing it.

Now I have 2 weird issues

and

I'm the the insertion, where Barney is supposed to reveal himself, but doesn't do anything.
How do I "Enable the AI" again ?

Tried the suggestions, but doesnt work for me

What Key is it again for the console, always thought it was the Tilde key, but doesnt seem to work, also tried pressing every button my my KB

It's the one directly below Esc. Looks like this: ¬

Will prob have to Check the box next to Enable developer console in the options 1st.

No, ¬ is not tilde, ~ is tilde. However ¬ is where ~ is on an American keyboard.

Anyway I digress, you have to enable the console in the options (advanced controls IIRC) before you can use ¬ to bring down the console.

If you hold CTRL+ALT+F2 I think it is (might be F1), it should give you a nice menu where you can enable the AI again. Don't worry about the node business, it won't affect your game.
