Half-Life 2 HD Update?

OK, so I'm finally about to make an attempt at completing Half-Life 2 for the first time.

I read here somehwhere recently that there is a massive HD update for this game that really modernises it. Can someone give more info and especially how I can get it please?

HD means 1280x720 so play at that or above that res and you're playing in HD

I think you mean the fakefactory cinematic mod....? Search the forums, there's a big thread somewhere.

My m8 refused to believe my crt was HD, cus it was old and didnt have the "HD ready" sticker

The first time I discovered what the definition of HD was (back when I bought my first LCD TV), I was also dumbfounded. I considered 1280x720 low resolution, not remotely high!
